I’m A.W. Ford, aka @CuriousCurator on Flipboard, curating 50+ topical magazines covering hundreds of subjects.

I’m excited to extend my wings beyond curation and to write about many of the topics I cover while throwing in a few personal anecdotes & stories along the way.

Visit me on Flipboard at https://flipboard.com/@curiouscurator 78k followers can’t be wrong, right? ;-)

I’m just getting started on my journey as a Substack author. I ask that you subscribe - for free, of course - to lend me your support in getting started and to provide feedback.

Like any new author here on the Substack platform, my first big goal is to reach 100+ free subscribers.

Why subscribe?

Subscribe to get full access to the all of the newsletter issues. All Subscriber content you see listed is free.

The current content plan looks something like:

  • “The Curious Curator” numbered issues.

    • The main longform newsletter like the first two issues out now.

  • “Curating X”

    • Periodic, topical bonus issues

    • A deeper dive into one subject with crossover curation from Flipboard sources.

  • Subscribers will occasionally get limited access to download original, high resolution clipart files for free, with full license for personal and commercial use, along with the right to modify the files and add you’re own artistic flair as you see fit!

    • More details on this coming soon!

  • Much of my initial clipart collection that will be released this way are recreations of illustrations from old Victorian-era books and advertisements.

  • Currently, none of this clipart is available or licensed anywhere else, so they are both rare and unique to this newsletter!

I love recreating clipart illustrations from Victorian era naturalist journals. There’s something about that vintage art style that adapts well.

This guy is obviously hiding something. A story waiting to be written…
